DESCRIPTION:
We are thrilled to be able to offer an exciting camping opportunity this year at the Goose Creek District Camp O Ree. The Spring Camporee is scheduled for April 12-14 and will be located at Willowsford. This is a new development area in Loudoun, south of Leesburg around the Route 50 area. The developer has set up a large tract of land (2000 acres) that will not be developed and is eager to have Scouts use the area and to help expand its trails and to do conservation/Eagle projects (not part of the camporee, however). The theme for the event is being planned to revolve around trail to first class skill development and challenge events. A full information/registration packet is available on the district website and unit registration is now open. We ask each troop to bring an activity that the troop will staff and run as in previous years. Adult Boy Scout Leader Specific Training will be offered at the camporee but will require a separate registration.

	We have the following:

a new, wonderful site for the Camp O Ree, Willowsford, Aldie Va.

lowered the cost of the event per scout to $10,

are offering a younger scout program (13 and under),

an older scout and adult challenge for 13 and over

offering an opportunity for primitive camping for the older scouts.

Over 8 miles of hiking trails which we will use for some of the events

We ask that when you register that you designate whether you will have tailgate campers and/or primitive older scout campers (optional). We also will ask for your number of older scouts and adults teams. Teams are to be older scouts from 14 to 21, 4 to a team and adult teams from 18 to 80 that wish to perform the challenge event. The obstacle course/hike event will be physically challenging and test not only a few scout skills but your physical endurance. Anticipate the course to take from 4 to 5 hours and be a timed challenge and skill event. Please solicit your older scouts and crews to participate. We have extended a challenge to the scout professionals to compete as a team for this event and our belief is that they have accepted. Who is tougher, the Scouts or the Adults and Professionals? Bring your best team!!!
