CCoS Training Opportunities

Chaplain Aide Training Program

This training syllabus is best presented to prospective Chaplain Aides as a discussion with interaction and sharing among individuals in a group situation. It should not be recited as factual or instructive information even though it appears to be written that way. Time, of course, should be given for the Scouts to ask questions of the group as well as the facilitator.
This training should be no longer than three hours and can be split up into no more than two sessions.

Scouter Religious Emblems Training Sessions
This traiing provides the Scouter with the tools necessary to successfully conduct Scout religious emblems training for any of the Catholic Commitee Scout emblems. These tools include where to purchase materials, who is eligibile to earn which emblem, how to obtain emblems/certificates, and awareness of the annual Archdiocese of Washington presentation ceremony.
To be a counselor for any Catholic Committee religious emblems, the Scouter must be trained prior to the start of the Scout religious emblems training sessions. Sessions are available on an as-needed basis.
Contact Chris Murray, Christopher_Murray@gensler.com, or Dick Stevick, dstevick@verizon.net, for further information.

Office of Youth Ministry Annual Training
This training focuses on how to be a better youth minister in your parish community.
All Catholic Scouters are encouraged to attend this training to reinforce your focus on an important aspect of your Scouting program.
