Welcome to National Capital Area Council, BSA!

National Capital Area Council, BSA is currently one of the 300 plus local councils chartered by the National Council, Boy Scouts of America. It is a Class 200 council, (one of the largest) and is geographically comprised of ten counties in Northern Virginia, six counties in Maryland, and the District of Columbia. Our council number is 82.

Districts assist with the implementation of Scouting and the 2011-2015 Strategic Plan. Support is provided to 22 districts serving the metropolitan National Capital area.

NCAC serves the District of Columbia; Frederick, Montgomery, Prince George's, Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary's counties in Maryland, and in Virginia: Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, Loudoun, Fauquier, Spotsylvania, Caroline, King George, Stafford, and Culpeper counties and the independent cities of Alexandria, Falls Church, Fairfax, Manassas, Manassas Park, and Fredericksburg.

NCAC: Growing Strong

Developing character in the lives of young people is not an exact science by any stretch of the imagination. This is particularly true when you strive to "deliver the promise" while ensuring that the program is safe, fun, and dynamic. However, for over 100 years, thanks to volunteers, parents, and staff, the BSA has been able to do just that.  It is our sincere desire that through this NCAC Web site (which includes its 22 district websites), the National Capital Area Council we will continue to better serve and assist you in your critical work with our future generations.
