This event is open to all Cub Scouts, including new Tigers (Kindergarten aged Scouts who just registered and will be Tigers this Fall 2013) and siblings/friends.

 

At our annual Goose Creek District Soda Bottle Rocket Derby, Cub Scouts use tape, tubing, paper, and soft drink bottles to build model rockets, then send them skyward propelled by compressed air and water! This event is always a big hit and is a great way to kick-off your Pack's achievements toward the National Summertime Pack Award!

Registrations must be turned in by May 25th (registration fees will be collected at the event). The derby fee is $8 per Scout, to be paid at the derby, which covers the cost for all of the materials to build the rockets. Your Scout only needs to bring their own empty 20oz soda bottle to use for the rocket engine (water bottles will not work). Each Pack will select their own two-hour assembly/launch window for the day. This year, Troop 786 will be hosting the event.
