The Potomac District Advancement and Recognition Committee's Life to Eagle (L2E) Conference is designed to provide a scout with the information, procedures, and guidance he needs to have the opportunity to successfully advance to the rank of Eagle Scout. This conference is basically a must (not a requirement) for LIFE scouts that are planning to earn the rank of Eagle Scout and is recommended for STAR scouts that are about to earn LIFE and quickly traveling along the path to Eagle.
Conference content will cover the most current requirements and latest District procedures in these four main areas: (1) the six requirements, (2) Eagle project and completing the 2011 workbook, (3) completing the 2012 Eagle Scout Rank Application, and (4) Eagle court of honor information.
Mr. Byron Lord, Potomac District's Eagle Chairman will be making the presentation. Also in attendance to answer all your advancement, including Eagle, questions will be Mr. Rick Kessel, Chairman and Mr. Dick Holcomb, Vice Chairman of the Potomac District Advancement and Recognition Committee.
All are welcome. Unit leaders (Scoutmasters, Advisors, and Skippers), Unit (troop, crew, teams, and ships) eagle advisors, unit advancement chairmen, other adult interested leaders, and parents of these scouts should make every effort to attend.
Location is at the St. Jane de Chantal School in Bethesda, MD. The School is located at 9525 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, MD. This is the first traffic light just inside the Beltway. The actual meeting room (deChantal room) is on the lower level of the school's gym building (back of the school). There is plenty of free parking available behind the adjacent church.
This is a Class A uniform event.
Life to Eagle conferences have "reference materials" for use by conference attendees. In an effort to provide all attendees access to the documents and handouts referenced during the L2E conference, they are listed below. Conference attendees should download, print, and review/read them to be familiar with their content prior to attending the conference; then bring them with you to the conference along with other useful or needed handouts.
2011 Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook (expandable and editable) PDF (do NOT convert to a Word doc!)
2012 Eagle Scout Rank Application editable PDF (do NOT convert to a Word doc!)
If you have any questions concerning the content to be covered during conference, please contact Rick Kessel, Chairman (gfdadv@yahoo.com) or Dick Holcomb, Vice Chairman (rsholcomb@verizon.net) of the Potomac District Advancement Committee.
Pre-registration is NOT required.
