United Way/Combined Federal Campaign (CFC)

The National Capital Area Council (NCAC) is a member agency of every United Way and Combined Federal Campaign that falls within the areas we serve.

These campaigns allow a donor to make a contribution to the charities of his/her choice. In many cases, NCAC only receives donations that are specifically designated by a benefactor. We encourage all of our members to support the works of the United Way and the Combined Federal Campaign.

United Way and Scouting - A Collaborative Partnership

The National Capital Area Council is generously supported by every United Way within the territory of the National Capital Area Council. United Way donors have supported and contributed to our mission of improving the lives of boys for many decades.

We are thankful for our long-standing partnerships with United Way of the National Capital Area, Rappahannock United Way, Piedmont United Way, United Way of Frederick County, United Way of St. Mary's County, United Way of Calvert County and United Way of Charles County.

The Combined Federal Campaign

The mission of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is similar to the operations of the United Way. However, it is the only national authorized workplace giving drive for employees in the Federal workplace. It solicits support from Federal Government employees. The Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA) is the local campaign for Federal employees in the Washington, D.C. area. This single campaign is one of the most cost-efficient fundraising methods available. It succeeds because volunteers from the Federal workforce combine their resources for one coordinated appeal.

The main donor designation number for the National Capital Area Council is 48974.  Since the territories of the CFC campaigns and the National Capital Area Council do not overlay evenly, we sometimes have different designation numbers in the charity catalogs.  However, we are always listed as the Boy Scouts of America, National Capital Area Council in all catalogs.

Below is a list of the Combined Federal Campaign, State and United Way campaigns that the NCAC is a part of and the designation numbers for those respective agencies:
