SCOUTStrong

The Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Venturing programs all have various physical fitness requirements. The goal of NCAC’s SCOUTStrong program is to help inform Scout leaders about fitness opportunities that support and supplement existing BSA physical fitness requirements, while providing a fun and challenging program for youth and adult leaders.

In the course of a Scout’s advancement, if he starts as a Tiger and ends as a Venturer, he will likely already do a fitness program almost every year:

Cub Scout Program:

Boy Scout Program:

Venturing Program:

The SCOUTStrong program is designed to unify and supplement these requirements—giving leaders the opportunity to satisfy advancement requirements through various council and non-council-led fitness events and competitions. It is also supported by the President's Council of physical fitness, which provides a platform for Scout families to keep track of their fitness activities and also opportunities for awarding recognition to Scouts who maintain active lifestyles.

It's a great way to make fitness fun and prepare your Scouts for the rigors of high adventure camping.

If you think your pack, troop, team, crew, ship, or post would be interested in participating in the SCOUTStrong program, please designate one adult leader from your unit to be the point of contact for this program. You can do this by entering his or her email address HERE.

This site, which already has links detailing various physical fitness requirements listed above, will be regularly updated with local events and activities related to physical fitness:
