Sea Badge

Seabadge is an advanced leadership training experience for Sea Scout Officers (adult leaders and committee members) at the Ship and council levels.   It is a course in leadership, team building, motivation,monitoring, and management skills.  Seabadge is not a program skills (knots,sailing, etc.) course but is designed to enable the participant to offer the best quality Sea Scouting program while expanding the program to reach more of America's youth.  Seabadge is a participatory experience which requires intensive individual involvement of both participants and staff in seminars, workshops, presentations, crew projects, and discussion.   Upon successful completion of the Seabadge course, graduates will be awarded the Seabadge Trident Pin, patch, and certificate.

To qualify for participation Seabadge participants must:

1.  Be approved by the local BSA council.
2.  Be currently registered in an adult Sea Scouting position for a minimum of one continuous year.  Priority for attendance will be given to individuals Serving  Sea Scouts on the Ship and/or squadron (council) level.  Council level volunteers and professionals active in Venturing operations are also encouraged to apply.
3.  Have completed New Leader Essentials Training, Venturing Leader Specific Training, and Sea Scout Officers' Specialized Training.
4.  Be willing to apply the skills and knowledge obtained through the Seabadge course to strengthen Sea Scouting at the local Ship/council levels.
