About the High Adventure Committee: The NCAC High Adventure Committee is comprised of volunteer Scouters that are dedicated to promoting high-adventure programs in all NCAC districts through our district high-adventure coordinators, providing information and assistance to NCAC youth and adults concerning high-adventure program opportunities, and conducting council contingent expeditions to Philmont Scout Ranch and other national High Adventure bases. This Web page provides Scouts and Scouters with current information regarding upcoming activities/events, space on council contingent expeditions for the upcoming summer, policy information regarding the conduct of these expeditions, schedules of upcoming meetings and adult training sessions, current committee membership and contact information, and information about major BSA High Adventure bases of interest. The High Adventure Committee meeting is scheduled the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM at the Marriott Scout Service Center located in Bethesda, MD.  | The NCAC HAC sponsors three (3) Council Contingent Expeditions to Philmont each year. The expeditions are made up of a combination of Unit Based Crews (UBC) and Provisional (Provo) Crews. The Unit Based Crews slots are awarded based upon a lottery held each spring for the expeditions scheduled during summer of the following year. Spaces are reserved on the Council Contingent Expeditions for NCAC provisional crews made up by scouts/venturers from various units under the leadership of council approved scouters. Additional information including the various applications is available below. Additional questions may be referred to the following individuals: | | UNIT BASED CREWS | 2014 NCAC Philmont Contingent Unit Based Crew Application Unit crews are available for the summer of 2014. For more information contact: | | YOUTH PROVISIONAL APPLICATION | 2014 NCAC Provisional Youth Application Spaces have been reserved for NCAC provisional crews–a crew made up by scouts/venturers from various units. If there are scouts or venturers in your unit interested in attending Philmont in 2014, send in an application with a deposit of $500 selecting one of the NCAC 2013 Philmont contingents. P701 (6/29-7/13), P708 (7/06-7/20), and P715 (7/13-7/27). All provisional crews will travel under arrangements made by NCAC. The estimated total cost is $1950 / $2250 per person.
