Catholic Committee on Scouting (CCoS) Our Mission: The Catholic Committee on Scouting offers a variety of activities to benefit Scouts of the Catholic faith in the National Capital Area Council. The Catholic Committee on Scouting is a church committee of concerned Catholic lay people and clergy who see as their mission the constructive use of the program of the Boy Scouts of America as a viable form of youth ministry with the Catholic youth of our nation. The committee, which is advisory to the Boy Scouts of America, seeks to sustain and strengthen the relationship between BSA and the Catholic Church in the United States. The NCAC has a relationship with three Catholic Committees: the Diocese of Arlington, the Archdiocese of Baltimore, and the Archdiocese of Washington.
Diocese of Arlington (CCoS DA) Archdiocese of Baltimore (CCoS ADB) is partially contained within the NCAC and covers part of Frederick County. The NCAC districts include Appalachian Trail and Catoctin Mountain. Archdiocese of Washington (CCoS ADW) is wholly contained within the NCAC and covers the District of Columbia and the Maryland counties of Calvert, Charles, Prince George, Montgomery, and St. Mary's. The NCAC districts include Benjamin F. Banneker, Black Hill, Crossroads, Enterprise, Forest Oak, Great Falls, Horizon, Paint Branch, Indian Creek, Rock Creek, Tayac, Western Shore, and Zekiah.
