Howdy Pardners! The C M Ranch is lookin fer some eager Cowpokes to join ‘r next great ride; Stampede at Woodsboro Pass. We are set to leave the corral on Monday mornin’ the 24th of June. We ride each day, at first light, (that’s 8:30 to you city-slickers). Our ride will go till’ about 4:30. The C M Ranch can be found at the cross roads in Woodsboro, MD; (in the NE quadrant of the intersection of MD 550 and MD 194). To ride with the C M Ranch during our Stampede, you’ve got to pay the Foreman. Charge for the ride is $165 silver dollars. Fees increase to $185 from April 17-May 17, 2013 and increase again to $205 from May 18 through June 20. June 20 is the last day to register. Any new scout, no matter what age, is eligible for the Early Bird discounted fee of $165 provided his registration form is presented to Day Camp staff with his BSA membership Application. Packs The Catoctin Mountain District has for 2013 will continue the adopted practice of using a District Day Camp Registrar. Contact information is below. We have made the registration forms very user friendly this year. In fact, the MS Excel version has formula embedded so all you have to do is to enter the quantity and the rest is calculated for you. The registrar will work with the Pack Day Camp Coordinator to verify all information before the Online Registration is completed, by the registrar. This will ensure that you don't have any problems when we start the cattle drive. Also, this will ensure that the camp director is given the proper assignment. How to make payment: We ask that packs make payment by credit card that the Pack Registrar will process with council. Please complete the pack payment form and return with pack registration materials. The Day Camp registrar will destroy this form once registration has taken place. So yer little cowpoke who are in Kindergarten right now are eligible to be a Cowpoke, come June 1, 2013. All they have to do is fill out an O-fficial BSA Application and the Day Camp Registration form linked below. Also this year, we are offering a place on the ride to non-Boy Scout cowpoke of the fairer persuasion; that’s GIRLS ´fer you city-slickers. They need to be 7-11 year old siblings of scouts or American Heritage Girls. Scouts and other cowpoke have to complete three major forms: The Registration to join the C M Ranch, the Individual Release Form and the BSA Med Form. We only need parts A and B of the Med Form, but we need a copy of your insurance card. K. A Staff (adult and Youth) and Den Walkers) You filthy bunch are goin’ to keep the Cowpokes in line and on track. Let’s get to the brass tacks: We have three levels of Crew this year. Every staff memeber must provide a complete application, a written Letter of Interest and a medical form with only PART A and B completed . Medical form must include a copy of your insurance card. No different than in years past, we have: Cowboys: are scout leaders, parents or other adults who are 21 years or older; Rustlers: are Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts or approved siblings who are 14 years or older; Cowhands: Cowhands are scouts or siblings who are under 14 but older than 10. These Cowhands need special approval from an adult leader to serve at the C M Ranch. Den Walkers is another name for these important folks. The C M Ranch requires one Wrangler for every five Cowpokes. Additionally, The C M Ranch requires that ALL cowpokes in the Tiger program (1st grade) must have a PARENT or GUARDIAN with them at ALL times. ALL Wranglers, including Tiger Parents, must complete a Registration Form and a Release form. A BSA Med Form, Part A & B only) also must be completed and submitted. A copy of your insurance card must be included with the Medical Form. Unfortunately, Wranglers are NOT considered Staff. For Wrangler who can commit to the entire week, the Ranch Staff are working to provide a small but thoughtful tribute to be paid at Camp. While this tribute has not been secured yet, we remain confident. We recognize the expense to which you have gone and your demonstration of the importance of Camp; Stay Tuned. Cowboys MUST request this stipend. It is available for this camp year only and only for Day Camp fee for their scout. In order to receive this stipend, staff members are to submit (1) Registration Form, (2) Release Form, (3) Medical Form to Mr. Deegan, NO LATER THAN April 15th. Please do NOT submit the registration information for the sons of STAFF with the PACK registration. Mr. Deegan will handle the registration of all Cowboy’s scouts.
