BSA National Board Approves Membership Resolution

BSA's National Board has approved the new resolution removing the ban on homosexual youth from the national membership standards. The assembled board members voted 61-38 to approve. This decision comes following an extensive listening campaign that gathered input from members, non-members and key community organizations across the nation.

Our Council supports the national board’s decision. We recognize that some of our members will be disappointed with the outcome, but we believe a good partnership does not require full agreement on every societal issue. Most importantly, we can now devote our full attention to providing a great program that helps young people be prepared for life.

Thank you for your support throughout this process, and we look forward to seeing you all at camp!
