The theme for the 2009 National Capital Area Council Cub Scout Day Camps was "SPACE: A Cub Scout Universe". This year, 20 camps were held throught the NCAC. Many thanks to all the volunteer staff members, day camp coordinators,  and den walkers who made everything happen. We'll see you at next year's jungle themed day camp.

Each summer, boys in grade 1 (as of September) through Webelos are eligible to attend day camp.  The camps open Monday mornings from the end of school in June through early August, and best of all...camps are held in your local communities  The cost is an outstanding value for a full week of fun.

Boys normally receive a camp T-shirt and all the goodies needed for a week of fun.  One adult is needed for every five boys to escort the adventurers through camp.  Tiger Cub adult partners are expected to attend camp with their son.

Adults: If you have a full week of free time and the ability to attend both camp training and planning sessions, why not be a full time, trained staff member.  Check with your district professional to find out how!

Activities
Activities vary from camp to camp, but usually range from traditional Scouting games and achievement opportunities to archery and BB instruction, crafts, nature study, soccer, fishing, swimming, handicrafts, leatherwork, and camp skills. Some activities will vary from camp to camp depending on local and state laws.

Dedicated family members, Scout leaders, and other adults can turn out to assist volunteer camp staff members. All of our Cub Scout Day Camps will have trained Camp Directors and Program Directors who are certified by BSA's National Camping School.  Each Day Camp location is inspected and certified by a Day Camp Visitation team approved by BSA.
