About Us

Jewish Committee on Scouting

The Jewish Committee on Scouting of the National Capital Area Council offers a variety of activities to benefit Scouts of the Jewish faith. During the past year, our committee has conducted Friday evening services at Goshen summer camp and a Merit Badge and Religious Awards Fair in January, organized Sabbath services during Boy Scout Week in February, hosted a Sunday evening Scout Recognition Night Dinner in February, conducted a Sunday Pinewood Derby for Cub Scouts, and arranged a Memorial Day Weekend Jewish Camporee. We also assist Scouts to earn recognition in the Maccabee, Aleph, Ner Tamid, and Etz Chaim religious awards program.

We encourage Jewish Scouts to participate in our programs. We shall announce details of specific activities through the coming program year. We welcome adult participation on our committee, which meets monthly.
