If you unit is interested in learning more about the American Flag, Mr. A. Vic Poillucci, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1503 Patriotism Committee conducts Flag History presentations to school classrooms, Civic Groups, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp (JROTC) members and others requesting Guest Speakers.
The Flag History presentation is centered around the War of 1812 and, what and how inspired Francis Scott Key, a thirty-two year old lawyer from Frederick, MD, to pen the four stanza poem "The Defense of Fort McHenry" - the first stanza of which became our National Anthem.
