Are Your Unit Leaders Trained? If So, Who Knows? If Not, Why Not?
One of the principle requirements of the BSA is that unit leaders be trained. There are a number of reasons some of which many of us are familiar with... "Every Scout Deserves a Trained Leader," but one of the most important reasons is to assure that unit leaders are following the Scout program and its guidelines and policies.
The National Capitol Area Council, along with 40 other BSA councils, is participating in a pilot program aimed at assure that all leaders are meeting the training requirement for their position and to make sure that each Scouter's training record is properly recorded and maintained. As part of this pilot, the Powhatan District is asking every Scouter to review and report their training using the attached form. It shouldn't take but a couple of minutes to complete and the form can either be dropped off at the next District Roundtable or emailed to the District Training Chair.
