Sully Chapter OA Elections Notification letters to elected candidates will be mailed by mid-March to ensure sufficient notification of the upcoming Spring Ordeal dates. Troops should ensure that their Troop Order of the Arrow Representative (TOAR) has set a date for elections and scheduled elections with his counterpart troop. Each TOAR has been provided with counterpart troop and their TOAR contact details. Sully Chapter OA Spring Ordeal – the spring ordeal will be conducted on April 19-21, 2013 at the Arlington Fairfax Chapter of the IZAAK Walton League (http://www.arlingtonfairfax-iwla.org/) located at 14708 Mount Olive Road, Centreville, VA. AMANGAMEK WIPIT LODGE AND SECTION EVENTS Section NE-6A Conclave – the Section NE-6A Conclave will be at Camp Snyder (again, right in our backyard!) on May 17-19, 2013. Registration is now open at the Section NE-6A website (http://www.ne6a.org/). We all know that there’s 22 chapters in the Amangamek Wipit Lodge. Did you know that Section NE-6A is comprised of four (4) OA lodges (Amangamek Wipit 470, Nentego 20, Nentico 12, and Te-kening 37) that cover Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Central Maryland, the DelMarVa Peninsula, and Southern New Jersey? It also includes a 5th lodge (Black Eagle 482) which serves the BSA council in Europe. The NE-6A Conclave provides an opportunity to: (1) meet other Arrowmen from across the region (and Atlantic!), (2) get trained on OA ceremonies, traditions, history (great for getting ready for Brotherhood), leadership and (3) seal your membership in the Order of the Arrow by participating in the Brotherhood Ceremony. Thinking of running for chapter, lodge or section leadership positions? This is a great opportunity to get ready. Think you’re good at Triton throwing? They’re having a competition so bring your “A” game. RESOURCES Sully OA Yahoo Group – want to know more about chapter activities without having to search the web? Enroll in the Sully Chapter OA Yahoo Group by sending an email, with you name in the body of the email, to SullyOA-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. This will ensure that you get notifications for upcoming meetings and events. Amangamek Wipit Lodge Website – the source of all things Wipit! The lodge website (www.boyscouts-ncac.org/oalodge470) contains everything you need to: (1) pay your dues, (2) find out and register for upcoming events (i.e. Lodge Banquet, Lodge Fellowship, Section Conclaves, Council Camp Service Weekend, Goshen Bus Loading, Goshen OA Trail Crew, and Lodge Vigil Induction) A CALL TO ALL ARROWMEN Remember that we were elected to serve others based on the expectations of those who elected us from our troops. This is why we: (1) promote camping to ensure that every troop has a camping program that includes long and short term camping, (2) provide service through projects like Goshen Bus Loading, Council Camp Service Weekend, Scouting for Food, and (3) display cheerful spirit as demonstrated in providing Arrow of Light (AOL) crossovers and camporee camp fires. It takes a chapter to support these activities. Don’t just leave it to your Troop OA Representative (TOAR) to enjoy all this fun. Come join the fellowship! Revised 03/28/2013 dk
