District Award of Merit Nominations Due

It is that time of year in which we collect your nomination for the District Award of Merit. You may view past Goose Creek District Award Recipients click here 

NOTE: The nomination is confidential. To avoid possible disappointment, please do not advise nominee in any way of your action in his or her behalf.

 

All Nominations are due by November 15th, 2012

What: The District Award of Merit is a Council award presented by district in the same manner that the Silver Beaver is a national award presented by Councils.

 Who:The award is available to Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district level. A nominee must be a registered Scouter. A nominee must have rendered noteworthy service to youth in Scouting, outside Scouting, or both.

Who not: Nominations cannot be considered for posthumous awards. A professional Scouter or other council employee may not receive this award based on employment service. However, a professional Scouter or employee who also serves as a volunteer Scouter may be eligible, based on volunteer service.

Awarded: The District Award of Merit Nomination Committee will select a limited number of worthy nominees of those submitted by Nov. 30th . The Committee will then submit these names to the NCAC Council Committee for approval. Last year there were three recipients approved for the Goose Creek District. This year’s recipient(s) will be awarded this prestigious honor at the GCD Annual Recognition Dinner in Spring 2013
