Scouting at Mount Vernon

Great opportunities for packs, troops, and all individual Scouts at Mount Vernon during Scouting Days (November 1, 2012 – February 15, 2013).   

All Scouts in uniform get in for FREE during Scouting Days.  Two leaders from each group will receive a discounted admission rate of $7 in 2012 and $8 in 2013. Additional adults accompanying Scouts will be charged the regular $15 admission fee in 2012 and the regular $17 admission fee in 2013.

After purchasing tickets, proceed to the main Information Desk at the Ford Orientation Center and request Adventure Maps for all of your Scouts and you are on your way!  Click HERE for a copy of the program; HERE  for an advance copy of the Adventure Map in .pdf  

Tiger Leaders, visit Mount Vernon with your den and in that one visit you can completely accomplish Go-See-It requirement 1G.  The Mount Vernon folks have the work already done.  The lesson plan “A Day at Mount Vernon” addresses the elements of 1G in more than sufficient detail for leader preparation.
