NCAC - Support ScoutingScouting Salutes the Military

"On my honor I will do my best

The concept of Scouting Salutes the Military is unique, simple and powerful: Honor one active duty enlisted person who personifies the values found in the Scout Oath and Law to represent each of the five U.S. military branches - Army,  Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard - during a special evening event that brings together the national community in support of Scouting’s impact on today’s youth and the tremendous service - on and off the battlefield -  rendered by the men and women of our armed services.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff and Senior Enlisted Advisors for each Service branch have been asked to provide candidates for consideration who fit the following criteria: an enlisted (E4-E6) service member who has displayed outstanding military service,  performed a heroic deed and/or valorous action and/or demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to community service and who has an existing or recent connection to Scouting either through active program membership as a Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity Scout or Venturer or as an adult volunteer for the aforementioned Scouting programs.

Scouting Salutes the Military is generously underwritten by General Dynamics, allowing sponsorship and guest participation to have a direct impact on the critical youth programs provided by National Capital Area Council (NCAC), Boy Scouts of America. The event is expected to draw a large and diverse audience in support of NCAC, a 501(c)(3) organization, and thus is generally accepted by the federal government to be a ‘widely attended’ event.
