100% Trained Unit Recognition

The National Capital Area Council (NCAC) is encouraging all Scouters to be trained for their position in Scouting. (http://www.boyscouts-ncac.org/openrosters/view_homepage.asp?orgkey=1934&id=94529) To encourage units to become 100% trained, the NCAC will recognize any unit that achieves 100% trained status for all of the adults in their unit by presenting the unit a "100% Trained" ribbon for their unit flag.  A unit can earn this award each program year.

Criteria for the 100% trained unit:
All leader on the unit charter (i.e., direct contact leaders (primary and assistants), committee members, charting organizational representatives, and ScoutParent Unit Coordinator must have successfully completed the training as specified by National for their position. YPT Training must be current.  This training must appear in ScoutNet, using the Training Update form, if needed.

It is recognized that all Scouters on the charter will not be able to complete training.  Some reasons for this are:

  • Leaders who are on the unit charter who have left the program
  • Leaders who are deployed away from Council for job or military deployments for more than 6 month
  • Leaders that are away at college
  • Leaders who are physically unable to attend training
  • Others as waived by the Chair, District Leadership Training

What are the application processes, and who approves the award application?
Verification of the training will occur by the unit committee chair reviewing the training status with the District Leadership Training Chair.  The District Leadership Training Chair will approve the award and notify the NCAC Leadership training Chair.  The NCAC Leadership Training Chair will forward the flag ribbon to the District Leadership Training Chair for presentation at Roundtable.
