Cub Scout Leader Training

Cub Scout Leader Fast Start

This online training course provides an overview of the Cub Scout program and helps new leaders to better understand their role in the Pack.

Cub Scout Leader Specific Training

The Cub Scout Leader Specific Training course is required training for all Cubmasters, Committee Members, Den Leaders, Webelos Leaders, and Tiger Leaders. The course teaches the basics of Pack and Den operations, including advancement, program planning, and secrets of successful leadership. This and other Cub Scout Leader training courses are now available online and should be completed as soon as you sign up as a Cub Scout Leader. Click on the "details" button to go to the training site.

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)

The BALOO training program is designed to provide Cub Scout leaders with basic planning and practical knowledge and skill to insure your Pack is following the BSA guidelines for safe Cub Scout Camping. This course is required for Packs to be able to go camping.

The Boy Scouts of America currently do not require Scouters to complete a course, called This is Scouting  which was developed to help new leaders understand the history, aims, and methods of the Boy Scouts. It also provides insight to how the programs of the BSA interlock to serve youth throughout their formative years. This is an optional but suggested online course for all leaders.
