"On My Honor, I Will Do My Best..."
There are a number of leadership positions in the Boy Scouts of America, and adult leaders are called "Scouters."
A Scouter is a special person, who has made a commitment to help ALL boys for whom he or she is responsible. This responsibility is to provide a safe and challenging environment for each youth to grow and develop at their own pace.
Those leaders who have accepted this responsibility and are trained in the Boy Scout method and approach are entitled to wear the "Trained" patch signifying their achievement. Training requirements vary depending on the position the leader occupies. In order for the unit to conduct any activities a minimum amount of training is required for the leaders. For other activities, additional training is required.
The Adult Training Program is a critical component in delivering the promise of Scouting to youth entrusted in our care. Recently redeveloped, Spring 2003 we implemented this new program.
These and many more topics are covered in Leader Training.
